一、close
作动词用法简单，含义是“关，关闭，闭上”
Would you mind my closing the window.我关上窗户你介意吗？
与之相对应的“关闭的”是“closed”。
close作形容词时，含义是“（空间和时间上）接近的，靠近的；（关系上）亲密的，严密的”：
Our new house is close to the school.
我们的新房子离学校很近。
I had no idea the beach was so close.
我不知道海滩原来这么近。
The two buildings are close together.
两座建筑物相距很近。
The children are close to each other in age.
这些儿童彼此的年龄很接近。
Their birthdays are very close together.

二、closely
作副词时，含义是“紧密地，密切地”表达的是一种抽象的意义，常常修饰分词形容词和动词。另外，还表示“仔细地”：
They had cooperated closely in the planning of the project.
他们曾密切合作，共同规划这一项目。
The two subjects are closely connected.
这两门学科紧密相连。
The French and British are co-operating more closely than they have for years.
法国和英国现在的合作比往年更加密切。
He held her closely, burying his head against her shoulder.
他紧紧地抱住她，把头靠在她的肩上。
My social life and business life are closely tied.
我的社交生活和工作联系紧密。
The US news media will cover the trial closely.

三、close与 closely的区别
这两个词都可以作副词，但是它们的词法用途完全不同，close 表示靠近，接近的含义，是指很具体意义上面的近，也就是偏重于距离(时间的)的近。
而closely更加偏重于抽象意义上面的“近”。常常修饰分词、形容词和动词。另外，还有“仔细地”这个含义。
He came close and stopped to look at the exhibits closely.
他走近并停下来仔细观看展品。
At the meeting ，they sat very close and had a closely talk ，but I didn't know what they were talking about.
开会时他们坐得很近并进行了亲密交谈，但是我不知道他们在谈什么。
The little boy sat close to his father and listened closely with great interest.
