content和contented这两个词都是形容词，都是“满意的”意思，其区别如下：
1. content只能用作表语，contented没有这个限制，可以作形容词能作的任何成分：
He seemed more content, less bitter.
他看起来比较满意，不那么失望。
He says his daughter is quite content.
他说他女儿非常满意。
He is at least content that there will be no immediate use of force
至少他对不会即时使用暴力感到满意。
Other women seemed content and even exhibited their bellies with pride
其他女人似乎很满足，甚至还骄傲地炫耀她们的肚腩。
Young people are usually less contented with their lot.
年轻人往往对自己的际遇不甚满意。
Not content with stealing my boyfriend , she has turned all my friends against me.
她夺走了我的男朋友还不满足，又挑起我所有的朋友和我作对。
contented指满意的、满足的、惬意的；contented多指因生活舒适而惬意；content多指对生活的态度，可以用have to be content（只好知足）或learn to be content（学会知足）；人和动物均可用contented，但只有人才能用content。

2. content可以后接不定式,contented则不可以：
I was content to wait.
我愿意等候。
I'm perfectly content just to lie in the sun.
我在阳光下躺着就感到非常满足。
He was content to watch from the sidelines as his wife built up a successful business empire.
他满足于站在一旁，看妻子一步步地建立起一个成功的商业帝国。
I am content to admire the mountains from below...
我满足于从山脚下观赏山景。
He had to be content with third place.
他只好屈居第三名。
