the+比较级，the+比较级是一个重要句型：
1.前一个从句是状语从句（比较或条件），后一个是主句；翻译时，直接按照语序来翻译既可以，如：（注意从句一般用一般现在时代替一般进来时，这是个考点）
The more he gets, the more he wants. 他越来越贪。
The harder he worked, the more he got. 他工作越努力,得到的就越多。
The more she works, the more she earns. 她工作越多，赚钱就越多。
The more the people the more the ideas.人多主意多。
The more he thought the more confused he became.

2.这个句型也可以把主句放句首，从句放句尾。此时，主句的比较级正常语序，即不放在句首，且主句的比较级前的the可以省略;翻译的时候，要注意先翻译从句：

They liked the book (the) better the more it made them cry.
这本书越使他们落泪，他们就越喜欢它。
Vibrations become （the）weaker the farther they go. 振动越走越弱。

3.在句子成分复杂的句子多见用“the + 比较级……，the + 比较级”……”的异形结构。例句：
As we all know, time becomes more precious to him the older one gets.
众所周知，一个人年龄越大，时间对他就越宝贵。
The water vapor ascends in warm air currents and becomes cooler the higher it goes.
在温气流中水蒸气上升，升得越高它就变得越冷。
The quantity of air supply to the engine is higher the lower the suction load on the air filter of a vehicle is.
车辆空气滤清器的吸入负荷越低，向发动机供气量越高。
