在英语里有go（come，try）and +动词原形或go（come，try）to+动词原形这两种结构。但是，在美国英语里，人们常常省略and或to，因此就出现了go（come，try） 与另一个动词原形直接搭配使用的现象，表示去做某事，这种情况下，可以两个动词连用。请看：
go see a doctor去看医生，
go take a shower去洗个澡，
go see a movie，去看电影，
go get some rest去休息一下，
go read a book去读下书，
go grab a bite 随便吃点，
go tell her去告诉她，等等。
You can go see him and have a good old moan.
你可以去看看他，好好地诉诉苦。
I’ll go fetch a hammer.我去拿一把锤子。
Go fetch some water.去拿点水来。
Go jump in the river.跳到河里去。
Get it out of hock or go buy a new one.
要么把它赎回来，要么去买个新的。
“Smith!” the manager cried out in a voice like thunder. “None of your excuses ! Go start work at once!”
come和try也有这种用法。
