一、用法说明
动词wish后接宾语从句时，从句谓语要用虚拟语气。若要表示与现在事实相反的愿望，从句谓语用一般过去时或过去进行时;若表示与过去相反的愿望，从句谓语用过去完成时或would / could+have +过去分词;若表示将来没有把握或不太可能实现的愿望，用would (could)+动词原形。如：
I wish he were here tonight.要是他今晚在这儿就好了。
I wish I were[was] taller.我要是个子高一些就好了。
I wish I knew how to turn on the heating.真希望我知道怎么开暖气。
I wish we'd known about it beforehand.要是我们预先知道这事就好了。
I wish I were young again, but getting older has its compensations.
我要是能再次年轻就好了，但上了年纪也有上了年纪的好处。
I wish it weren't true但愿这不是真的。
I wish I knew what they were driving at.我要是知道他们的用意就好了。
I wish I were not so busy. 但愿我不那样忙碌。
I wish I hadn't eaten so much.我倒希望我没有吃这么多。
I wish I were [was] better looking. 要是我长得漂亮些就好了。
I wish I were rich. (考试或写作专用)
I wish I was rich. (其他非正式场合用)
I wish I had known Charlie was coming. I would have invited Jane.

I wish that the train had been on time.

.对将来发生的事情表示祝愿或愿望：主语＋wish＋从句主语＋would(could,might)+动词原形
eg：I wish she would try again.
我希望她能再试一次。
I wish you would go with us tomorrow. 要是你明天同我们一起去就好了。
I wish you wouldn’t look down on this kind of work. 我希望你不要看不起这种工作。
This watch has gone wrong. I wish I had bought a better make. 这只表坏了，我真愿意我买的是好一点的牌子。
I wish you wouldn’t smoke any more. 我希望你不再抽烟了。
I wish you would be more respectful to your father. 我希望你对你父亲更尊敬些。
I wish I could be of some use. 我希望我能有什么用处。
对过去发生的事情表示遗憾或后悔时：主语＋wish（that）＋从句主语＋would/could have/had＋过去分词
I wish i have been with you,
我但愿当时和你在一起。
I wish that I could have gone with you tomorrow.
我希望我昨晚能和你在一起。
二、特别注意
从句的时态只与从句所指的时间有关，而与wish的时态无关，比较：
I wish I were rich. 要是我现在有钱就好了。
I wish I had been rich. 要是那时我有钱就好了。
I wished I were rich. 当时我后悔自己没有钱。
I wished I had been rich. 当时我后悔自己曾经没有钱。
三、wish + (that) + would + 不带 to 不定式
I wish you wouldn't knock at the table again.
我希望你不要再敲桌子了。
I wish you would come back to Washington with us, but that's for you to decide
我希望你能和我们一起回华盛顿，但是这由你决定。
I wish you'd be quiet for a minute.
我希望你会安静一会儿。
I wish you wouldn't leave your clothes all over the floor.

四、wish + 带 to 不定式
Wish + 带 to 不定式，意思相当于 would like，表示希望做某事，是一种正式的表达方式，例如：
They wish to limit the power of the State.

We wish to protest in the strongest possible terms.
我们想要以最强硬的措辞抗议。
I don't wish to be rude, but could you be a little quieter?
我不想无礼，但请您安静一点儿好吗？
I don't wish to sound callous, but I am glad I wasn't here...

He did not wish to die the agonizing death of his mother and brother

He no longer wished to be associated with the party's policy on education.

与“wish + 带 to 不定式”意思一样，表示希望某人做某事，例如：
I do not wish you to publish this article.
我不希望你发表这篇文章。
He was not sure whether he wished her to stay or go.
他说不准他到底是希望她留下还是离开。
I wish these people to leave.
我希望这些人离开。
六、wish + sb + sth
Wish + sb + sth，常用于一些固定搭配，例如：
I wished her a happy birthday.
我祝她生日快乐。
They wished us Merry Christmas.
他们祝我们圣诞快乐。
I would like to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
祝您圣诞节愉快，新年快乐。
