1. “the + 比较级，the + 比较级”句型比较常见，在通常情况下，前一个“the + 比较级……”是状语从句，后一个“the + 比较级 ……”是主句。此时从句的the + 比较级结构位于从句的句首；主句的比较级结构位于主句之首。
The faster you run, the harder you breathe.
你跑得越快，呼吸就越困难。
The more you study, the more you know.
你学得越多，你知道的就越多。
The harder he works, the happier he feels.
他工作越努力，就感到越幸福。
The more , the better.
多多益善。
The more you practise, the better you will speak English.
你练得越多，你英语就会讲得越好。
2. “the + 比较级，the + 比较级”的变形句型：
即把主句放在整句的句首，把从句放在主句的后面；且主句的比较级总是位于主句的末尾，而且副词the常常可以省略；从句的比较级结构依然位于从句的句首。翻译时要注意，不管主句在句尾还是主句在句首，主句所表达的都是越来越的结果的。如；
At that moment I tried to relax myself the best I could, because I knew I would use up my air faster the more excited I got.
那一刻我竭力放松自己，因为我知道我越是兴奋，空气就越快用完。
