（1）语气上的区别
① must
表示一种主观的强烈义务，说话者自己认为必须要做某事，语气较为坚定。
must+do sth：必须做某事
强调主观意愿或内在要求, 含有命令/强制的意味。
例子：
I must finish this work today.（我今天必须完成这项工作。）
——说话者自己的主观意愿。
② have to
通常表示外部的或客观的义务，例如规定、规则或外部因素迫使某人做某事，语气相对较弱。
have to do sth：不得不做某事
强调客观需要或外部压力, 含有无奈/不情愿的意味。
例子：
I have to finish this work today because my boss asked me to.（我今天不得不完成这项工作，因为老板要求的。）
——外部压力决定的。
（2）否定形式的区别
① must的否定形式是：mustn't
意思是：绝不允许，禁止，即某事禁止或不允许做，语气非常强烈。
You mustn't park here.（这里禁止停车。）
You mustn't talk during the exam. （考试期间你不准说话。）
Children mustn't play with fire. （孩子们不准玩火。）
We mustn't be late for the meeting. （我们不能迟到开会。）
② have to的否定形式为：don't have to
表示不需要做某事，即某事不是必要的，可以选择做或不做。
You don't have to finish your homework now. You can do it later. （你不必现在完成作业，你可以稍后再做。）
You don't have to wear a tie to the party. （去派对你不必穿领带。）
We don't have to wait in line. There's no one in front of us. （我们不必排队。前面没有人。）
③ 含must的肯定句变否定
must不能直接变为mustn't
而是要变为don't have to或don't need to/needn't
肯定句：
You must finish your homework.（你必须完成你的家庭作业。）
否定句：
You mustn't finish your homework.（你绝不能完成你的作业。）
这句的意思是：禁止完成，不符合常理。
正确的应该是：
You don't have to finish your homework.（你不必完成你的家庭作业。）
You needn't finish your homework.（你不必完成你的家庭作业。）
（3）时态的区别
① must：通常用于现在或将来，但没有过去式。
如果要表达过去的必要性，可以用had to来代替。
I had to finish the report yesterday.（我昨天必须完成报告。）
② have to：
有不同的时态变化，一般现在时：have to（三单形式：has to）、一般现在时：had to、一般将来式：will have to
I will have to finish the report tomorrow.（我明天得完成这份报告。）
